The Aeris Swopper is used to prevent and treat back pain by allowing plenty of movement for the entire body in everyday office life. The office furniture industry advocates dynamic sitting, but essentially understands this to mean the mobility of the backrest, which dynamically follows the back.
However, this "dynamics" is not sufficient to keep the spine healthy, because intervertebral discs and vertebral joints, ligaments and muscles, and also the nervous system, require constant and varied strain to exist. The change from "rigid" sitting to "dynamic" sitting is partly achieved by the fact that the Aeris Swopper has no backrest. In addition, movements are possible in three dimensions. The Aeris Swopper allows up and down movement (vertical swinging), horizontal movement to the side, and a forward tilt.
1. The intervertebral discs (usually 23!) are trained by vertical loading and unloading, sitting in a vertical position with unstable muscular balance of the pelvis guarantees the physiological shape of the spine, the double S shape. In this double S shape, the intervertebral discs are loaded with a moving pressure load over a large area and not one-sidedly, as is the case when sitting with a rounded back.
2. The back muscles can constantly tense and relax when sitting on the " Aeris Swopper ". This has the advantage that dynamically working muscles tire less quickly, are better supplied with blood and are better detoxified. In contrast, static sitting - even in an upright position - causes premature fatigue of the postural muscles. Nervous control is also kept "alive" in this way, because neuromuscular reflex activities dry up when sitting with little movement.
3. Sitting on the “ Aeris Swopper ” can only be beneficial for the entire musculoskeletal system, because it not only trains the spine itself with its holding, supporting and moving structures, but also the joints, hip joints, knee joints and ankle joints are moved at the same time.
