Some connections start small and grow into something big over time. This is also true of the partnership between Aeris and the Danish fabric manufacturer Gabriel Fabrics.
Since 2009, the two companies have worked closely together and now have a solid design and development partnership that goes far beyond a classic supplier relationship. The collaboration is driven by shared values, a clear understanding of design, and the vision of rethinking seating.
"For us, sustainability is not a trend, but part of the design. Our furniture is durable, repairable – and we pay attention to ecological standards for all materials," emphasizes Dietlind Walger, Head of Product Development at Aeris.

15 Years, One Principle: Change Through Quality
A lot has changed in over 15 years of collaboration. Topics such as New Work and sustainability have evolved from trends to societal necessities. What has remained is the shared pursuit of genuine quality – and the ambition to keep not only the body but also product development in motion.
From the very beginning, it was clear that two companies with the same goal were working together: to design furniture that goes far beyond aesthetics and functionally supports people in their everyday lives. "You can recognize good furniture by the fact that it lasts. It still looks good in ten years, still works – and perhaps is even passed on," says Dietlind Walger.

"Especially in the home office, materials are needed that support concentrated work and at the same time have a homely effect," says Benjamin Fett.
"Our furniture is often used in zones that are not clearly 'work' or 'living'. A Swopper might be at the dining table, a Numo in the reading corner. Fabrics help to soften these transitions," explains Dietlind Walger. Both the haptics and the corresponding colors ensure that we feel comfortable in our surroundings – whether for working or relaxing.
"Only when fabric and furniture not only look good together but also prove their worth in daily life, does real added value emerge," Benjamin Fett summarizes.
Responsibility Woven into Fabric: Cura Loop by Gabriel
At Aeris, sustainability is part of the design from the very beginning, which is why we already use Gabriel's Cura upholstery fabric in our products. This fabric is characterized by its resource-efficient composition, consisting of 100% recycled post-consumer polyester. With its warm mélange effect, soft feel, and high durability, Cura has long been an integral part of our product world.
With the development of Cura Loop, Gabriel has now gone a step further:
Cura Loop is the consistent evolution of the Cura philosophy: a technical and ecological upgrade that sets new standards. Unlike its predecessor Cura made from post-consumer polyester, Cura Loop is made from 100% recycled polyester textile waste - thus closing the loop with innovative chemical recycling technology. The textile waste from which Cura Loop is made is a mixture of used textiles and production remnants from various sources, such as fashion and home textiles.

Discarded textiles are broken down, disassembled into their molecular building blocks, and processed into new yarn. This creates a fully regenerated fabric without loss of quality, but with maximum resource conservation.
