When we say that we want to enable our customers to live healthier and happier lives, we are also including the place where these lives take place: Our planet.
That is why we are striving for a sustainable future and have made it our mission to firmly anchor ecological, economic and social principles in our company. We rely on durable designs, recycled materials and renewable energies to conserve resources and minimise waste. In this way, we want to ensure that together we make a valuable contribution to future generations and create a world in which nature and people live in harmony.
Energy generation
"120 %" climate-neutral electricity
Since our foundation almost 20 years ago, we have been setting the course for a sustainable future. Back in 2007, when it was still a crazy idea, we focussed on solar energy at our production site in Horgau. In 2013 and 2023, we stepped up these efforts with additional photovoltaic systems. As a result, we now generate significantly more energy than we need and feed the surplus into the grid to supply additional households.
By using advanced KFW standards, innovative thermal insulation and efficient air heat pumps, we are further minimising the energy requirements of our production building. Our headquarters in Haar is also powered 100 per cent by renewable energy.

Material cycle
Recycled and recyclable materials
Our products consist to a large extent of recyclable components and use many recycled materials. For example, we use cover fabrics made from 100 per cent post-consumer polyester for many of our products. The Aeris Swopper, for example, already consists of two thirds recycled materials. Our aim is to increase this figure to 100 per cent.
The challenge is to work with our partners to find solutions that do not yet exist. For example, there is no moulded foam that consists of 100 per cent recycled material. It is also not currently possible to return gas springs to the material cycle. However, we at Aeris are conducting intensive research together with our partners in order to find forward-looking solutions here too.

Resource efficiency
Resource-saving packaging solutions
When transporting goods, we consistently rely on the reuse of load carriers. Our packaging consists of 76 per cent recycled paper. We only use water-based printing inks and corn starch as an adhesive for the corrugated cardboard. The wood used to make the corrugated cardboard comes from FSC-certified forests.
We are also working hard to avoid using film bags or PE foam profiles. This sounds simple, but it is not, because many alternative materials either do not meet the transport requirements or do not give the desired high-quality impression. We have already come a long way compared to the market, but our aim is still to achieve 100 per cent plastic-free packaging.

Product life cycle
Longevity through “Hand-Made in Germany”
At Aeris, we attach great importance to durability and reparability. Each of our products is handmade in Germany and is subject to strict quality controls. However, should a problem occur, almost all parts of our products can be repaired or replaced. This means that Aeris products accompany their owners for many years.
This philosophy also enables us to supply our customers quickly, which gives us a decisive advantage over the competition. For us, "Made in Germany" stands for genuine quality and reliability - a clear added value for us and our customers.

Waste management
Reduction of the waste quota
Our goal is to minimise the amount of waste we produce. In 2022, we have already achieved a recycling rate of 86 per cent. To further optimise our waste management, we are currently working on various solutions, such as the use of reusable transport containers, improving the complaint rate and increasing the quality standards of our supplier parts in order to reduce waste.

Regional and certified suppliers
We ensure that our partners and suppliers comply with strict sustainability standards. 80 per cent of our suppliers come from Germany, 53 per cent of them from Bavaria. This ensures short transport routes and lower CO2 emissions. Many of our suppliers have also been awarded environmental certificates. For example, our fabric supplier Gabriel has the EU Ecolabel and the supplier Siro, which manufactures the wooden feet for our Aeris Numo, has the FSC seal.

As an employer, we are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and offer our employees regular training to promote these values. Our team comprises 13 nationalities and spans an age range from 17 to 80 years. We are particularly proud that 60 per cent of our management positions are held by women.
